The first three days of this week will be very relaxing! Just sit back and watch a movie. Then the movie will stop and badaboombadabing! The most amazing assignment you will have ever done will be given. I am pretty sure it has never been done by any other students in world. I am REALLY looking forward to it but would like to keep it a surprise…if that’s ok with you.

Due Friday — Two Blog posts and four comments. First blog post can be on any topic written in one of the “25 Styles of Blogging” due on Friday. Second post should answer the question “What are the greatest obstacles to the fulfillment of my dreams and goals?” So first think of a dream or goal of yours, and then think about what stands in the way of you accomplishing those dreams or goals — what do you need to overcome in order to achieve them.  It was suggested by a teacher from Kansas. It is from the book “How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci” by Micheal Gelb.

A heads-up on a contest we will be taking part in…now that you are all podcasting wizards.

THE PODCASTS ARE FINISHED!!! AHHHHHHH!!! If for some reason yours is still not up or you are having problems with it let me know and we will deal with it during an 8th Period.

Reminders:
Moderate your comments–check your blog every couple of days
Don’t wait until the last second to post your entries — if it gets put up after the due date I won’t see it
Due Dates-posts need to be up by the time you walk into class on Fridays
This Friday’s posts are listed under Mondays blog entry

Today’s Agenda (in the library):

1-Go onto your blog and answer the following question — Should students involved in extracurricular activities be tested for drugs? Click here if you need to review the article. You will have ten minutes. The only thing you should do is post your answer (no other blog/wiki stuff) and then come back to the circle of chairs.

2-We are going to do today what was planned for last Thursday–discuss the article that you discussed on the wiki about the drug testing.

3-We are going to do a Connection Discussion — don’t worry I will explain. It will be recorded and be our first full class podcast.

Podcast your answer to “Is the Constitution a living and breathing document?”

Already feeling the pressure of having to squeeze in a lot of stuff in a little time…decided today to introduce the kids to the software we will be using to record the podcasts.  All groups today got some time to “play” with the software and experiment.   Monday the podcasts will be recorded, Tuesday they will be edited and posted.

Al Gore made the following statement while running for President in 2000:

I would look for justices of the Supreme Court who understand that our Constitution is a living and breathing document, that it was intended by our founders to be interpreted in the light of the constantly evolving experience of the American people.

Was Al Gore correct? Is the Constitution a living and breathing document?

We are going to work on the blog post “What do you consider to be the most important Amendment in the Bill of Rights and why?” today in class.  Complete it using information and links that you found during today’s class. Include at least one link to an article showing that the amendment is “alive.”  Search for “X amendment in the news.” Tell why you think it is the most important Amendment(details/proof/evidence) and a summary of the article.
