Four weeks until…

Today’s agenda:

First, fill in handout chart with completed work for the second quarter. So far you should have finished the following:

____Video or voicethread on American Rev on blog

____ voicethread on blog –”Who I want to be…”

____ 2 comments or one post from last week

____ Constitution Q’s on wiki page

____ Constitution phone call

____ 5 things from Constitution homelearning

____ Comment on “On-line” school blog

Second, comment on this discussion thread.

Third, listen to the podcasts that you made to the signers of the Constitution and posted on Gcast and fill out a handout on each.

Here is a neat site I just found.   Please consider adding a panel to it.  If you do let me know and we’ll throw a bit of life credit your way.

All blog posts and assignments listed last week are due by this Friday.

This is due by Wednesday:

Make a one minute phone call to one of the signers of the Constitution that answers the question “Is the Constitution still important today?” (see below for how to record phone call).

  1. Make 15 seconds of small talk (research your person before calling!).
  2. Tell them about a part of the Constitution is still debated/used/applied today for 15 seconds (state the Article and section, or the Amendment #)
  3. Give them an example that is currently happening in the news or how it applies to your life for 15 seconds
  4. That leaves you with 15 seconds to do something creative!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Say goodbye!

Make a new page on your homepage and write your script there!

Directions for recording the phone call (It will not cost you one cent)

After you make the call, you can listen to it, or anyone else’s on our wiki

Ahhh…a three day week, followed by a four day week, followed by a two and a half day week.  There is nothing new due this week.  On Friday you have the two blog posts due and the movie.  The Voice Thread and the movie must be posted on your blog to receive credit.

So here is what we will be doing with our 2 hours and 15 minutes this week:

Wednesday-First quarter evaluations.  The good, bad, and ugly of the first quarter.  Some further explanation of what we did and why, and where we are going.

Thursday-You will spend time making an individual plan for yourself and set goals for the second quarter and the year.  What are your strengths, weaknesses, where do you want to go and how you are going to get there.  You will come up will several goals and objectives for the second quarter that you will strive to meet.

Friday-You will post about what your ideas from Wed. and Thurs.  Also a wrap up day to get the movie and voicethreads up on your blog.  There will be no time to actually work on them in class, but if they are finished I will help you put them onto your blogs.

I also found a neat movie making site for young kids.  Spend some quality time with a younger sibling on your days off and show them how to make an animated movie!
