Here is a quick assignment that we will do when everyone is done presenting their sticky Lewis and Clark stories. I think starting a new unit the day before vacation would be…ummm….not a wise move. This post will be done on Friday. Check out the video and answer the questions –  you will be way ahead.

Monday through Wednesday we will be putting together your Lewis and Clark sticky story presentations.

Thursday and Friday we will present.

Things you should ask yourself:
1-Have I completed the notes?
2-Have I completed the “pre-planning” questions?
3-Did I storyboard my presentation and plan it out thoroughly before just jumping in an throwing my facts into a story?
4-Did I take the time to use my imagination, be creative, be innovative, have a “point,” do something new I have never tried before, and think outside-my-box when preparing my sticky story?
5-Does the quality of my presentation reflect the amount of time I had to work on it and the number of people in my group?

Remember, after you present you will conference with me to tell me what your grade should be.

When you put up your blog post for this week you can select a time and day to present. So after you log in your post at the wiki, head over to here to select your time and day — top of the list goes Thursday, middle goes Friday, end goes Monday+

The answer to this question is to be posted on your blog by December 20 (next Thursday). Use your imagination. Be creative. Think outside-your-box.

Outside of parents, who has influenced your life more than anyone else; who had an impact on your life and what was it about that person that meant something to you? (No wimpy answers and remember da “rules.”)

Add your post this week to gcast. Read it for your podcast. Same directions as last time! Your audio can be listened to on the wiki. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE SITE AND EDIT THE TITLE if you do not want to.

I am trying to find the easiest way for people to locate updated blogs. It is a pain in the neck to click on five blogs and only find one that was updated. By the end of the week it is not a problem, but howabout if you want to read some on Monday or Tuesday?

If you go to the wiki home page there is a new link called Our Latest Blog Posts.

This will take you to a page will links to all the blogs. After you are done writing your posts place a ” M T W Th or F ” behind your initials. One for each day you put up a post each week. Each Monday morning I will remove them

Any other ideas? There are better ways using RSS aggrevators that you can set up on your computer — check them out, they would automatically send you every new post from our team,

This week we will continue working on the sticky Lewis and Clark story that you are creating.

Monday- By the end of today you have topic chosen and sources identified. Begin taking notes.  Make sure you use the special super duper 8-2 Lewis and Clark search engine that searches pre-approved sites on Lewis and Clark.  Remember, search engine and results are on the bottom of the page.

Tuesday-continue to research and take notes.

Wednesday-continue to research and take notes.

Thursday-Create a rough outline of your story using your questions and research. What media will you use? What will the final format be? How will you present it? etc…

Friday-Begin to use your outline, research and questions to create your story

Mon-Wed- work on story

Thurs-Fri-Mon(?) - present

There will be only one small blog entry this week. You will write one post and two comments. Place the links to your comments at the bottom of your post. Simply finish the following sentence and explain your answer:

I wonder…….

Do not leave anymore comments New Zealand and Australian schools blogs that appear inactive. I know one school at least is out for the summer so I will assume that they will all be out shortly.

Ok, I know this is being put up after the fact, but last week got a little busy. So just for the record here is VERY briefly what we are going to do did last week.

Tuesday-Set up unit on Lewis and Clark with a discussion on what is an adventure?

Wednesday-Read the textbook chapter on Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expedition. If each were a ten scene movie what would each scene be.

Thursday-watched slide show on Expedition

Friday-Project introduced and went to computer lab to find a part of the Expedition that each student would focus on.
